There was a two part article in ER concerning how to 
revive/rebuild dynamotors. One thing you absolutely must do is 
either replace bearings (most are still available) or lube them 
with the proper lube. Even a minute or two with bad or dry 
bearings can damage the armature or the bearing wells 
irreparably.
