More seriously, the roller coil and variable caps can be useful for 
making a low power tuner (~50w or less) and those are generally 
available in a junker or separately.  There's an awful lot of wasted 
space if you use even a junker solely for that purpose, though.  Is 
there any particular reason you were looking to use that particular 
chassis as a platform?
