[ARC5] I just don't get it...

It often depends on how the item is described and whether the title or text
contain the proper key word(s) for it to show up in a potential buyer's search.
I search extensively and carefully, but often miss items because of the
descriptions. The eBay search engine is also somewhat brain damaged, and seach
strings are of limited length. Also, whether you list something as BC-348 or BC
348 or in another example BC-348A or BC-348 A makes a big difference. If you
make your searches broad (to be inclusive) the number of hits becomes excessive
and there is no way to triage them. Very hard on the eyes.
Short duration auctions also cause problems, since the probability of intercept
is lower. I look for a number of different items, and extensive searching is
VERY time consuming. Catagory searches are often fruitless because of the many
possible ways to list an old radio.
OTOH, the same problems make it possible to get a bargain on occasion. IMO, a
fair price is what a willing buyer and seller agree upon. To a question, I
usually give a range.
Happy hunting,
John
