[ARC5] I just don't get it...

You know, I'm all for the free market.
But some things baffle me.
Take item #1082693902 over on the Bay.
It's a nice, clean garden variety 348.
It's been modified, though neatly with no extra drill holes.
No shock mount or anything extra.
$500 plus and climbing.
Now, I'm not grumbling because I want the radio or something.
I have one of each common "flavor" of 348 in unmodified condition.
My "P" model is still in the wooden shipping crate. So it isn't that.
I'm just scratching my head because I don't understand the
wide spread of prices on these radios.
What makes my pointy noggin go "tilt" is
that a complete and near factory radio
a couple of days before now might have topped at $150.
And two days from now the same condition radio might top at $95.
And a week later a hacked-up set is going for $300.
Doesn't seem to be any "rhyme or reason" to it.
That's another reason I hate to be asked about a
"fair price" for a command set. Their prices do this, too.
Whatever I say to someone about the "value" of his sets,
the real market is sure to make a monkey out of me.
Like I said- I believe in the free market...
but it sure seems crazy sometimes.
