Mike and group:
First, thank you all very much for the assistance. It amazes me how much there
is to learn about any *one* system and the sheer numbers of accessories
required to complete one station. And(of course) the items like shockmounts
and mounting plates were often left attached to the aircraft when they were
smelted, which just adds to the fun of locating them. Guess it was just too
easy to snap the racks loose and carry them away! In addition to the
information provided here, I was also told the the MT-6 was the original ARC-5
single receiver rack, with the MT-7* was later shared between the ARC-5 and
the ARR-2 sets. Sounds about right, though - two designations for the same
item. I'd never heard of an MT-6 either, which is why I got confused between
the two.
I'm also amazed and impressed by the amount of knowledge on these lists. It's
nice to have such knowledgable folk to fall back on in times of need. The two
current projects going here are ARC-5 and ARA/ATA stations, each is perhaps
halfway completed. There is also a complete RU-16/GF-11 group not far behind,
an so you can expect to hear more from me as time rolls on.
BTW, if any of you have any ARC-5 or ARA/ATA items surplus to your needs, I'd
be interested. I seem to have far more luck finding the SCR-274N gear which
just happens to be the station I am *not* building, so I have trading
material. I've had very good luck trading and dealing with folks on these
lists as a whole, it's a great resource.
Thanks again -
