You must have read my mind, Mike -

I was planning to post about this point, too. The day is approaching when I'll
have more of the items necessary to fire up at least one receiver and get a
feel for what's involved. I have a ton of questions related to this and all
that is involved, but my primary concern was/is the dynamotor bearings and the
proper care thereof. IIRC, in the last year or two there was a very good
thread on the proper care, use, cleaning and repacking of bearings for
dynamotors. Can't recall which list or who started it, but it was very
informative about the need to disassemble the dynamotor somewhat to clean and
relube the bearings. Types of lubrication were discussed as well as places to
get exact replacement bearings, the proper process involved with doing it
right, i.e. steps involved.

I'm thinking this might be an informative topic to revisit, since so many of
us are either using or talking about using their dynamotors. Maybe we could
come up with a FAQ for the use, maintainence, and overall care of this type of
gear? Or does something already exist and I just need to get up to speed?
