I suspect he was expecting the moderator to have prevented those other
emails from happening.  Unfortunately, as far as I know, this list
isn't moderated (as in, every message does not need to be approved),
and the owner/moderator wasn't given the standard Tardis that would
have let him go back in time and prevent those messages from being
sent to the list.  Happens every time.

My delete key still works wonders on the occasional spam, when it happens.

You can't stop all spam, except by being a tyrant and shutting down the list.
