Thanks to all for the many responses and I will reply to each as time allows. After I posted, we had a
house guest and then tropical storm Debby hit us and the deluge of rain and winds of 30 to 40mph
prevented me from working on the subject problem.
At least the antenna suffered no damage. My weather station went crazy so have to fix that first but will
get to the antenna work ASAP.

Subject: sealing coax

| Two months ago I installed my Hustler 4BTV on the roof and sealed the coax using the materials and
| methods recommended by Jim W4THU at THE RADIO WORKS, with the final step being to add cold-shrink over
| the coax-seal and my recent inspection shows the cold shrink pealed away and the cracked coax-seal
| visible.
|
| What would be the best method to use in resolving this? Should I just apply more cold-shrink or just
add
| another layer of coax-seal?
