Tom, I have used a 40 meter half square for about 6 months. It is supported by
two 30 foot poles 69 foot apart.

The ends hang down and the ends are bent inwards about 8 foot above the ground.
I feed it with RG 58 and a coiled choke just below the top corner. The feed line
comes off at about 60 degrees

from the corner. It works fantastic for Europe, Middle East, Asia and Russia.
Those areas are a long haul from Ecuador.
Cuts out a lot of man made noise so the weaker signals can be heard. I also use
it on 30 meters. And 80 meters with the tuner.
