I use one on 80m. Cebik design. Fed in upper corner with 50 ohm coax.
Cebik said folding the vertical legs inward has little effect. Mine is
only 40' high & the bent inward vertical element ends are only 6' off
the ground. So I can mow under it. SWR is good for 100kc without a
tuner. I have never ran any tests other than the MFJ analz. to cut it
for CW.
All I have is on air performance. I chase DX & it seems to have a low
take off for such a low antenna. In last weeks CQ WW I was on 16 hr.s
on 80m. 500w & a K3. Just hunt & pounce. 177 Qs , 87 countries and 22
zones. It has a 200' feed line too.
I see no reason the design wouldn't be good on 30m & 40m. I use a
Cebik design 2 ele Moxon yagi on 30m.
It didn't beat the 4 squares & full verticals but most every thing I
called I got thru quickly. It seems omni directional but there is a
small bit of gain broadside. It's not a scientific analysis just an
on air evaluation.
