[Antennas] Vertical question re current balun

Is there a reason you want to put it 1/4 wave from the feed point. I am
guessing that a 1/4 wave vertical antenna has a failrly low impedance at the
feed point. If it is lower than the Zo of your coaxial feed line, the
impedance would be transformed to higher than Zo at the 1/4 wave distance
from the feed point. Whether that makes it a good place to put a current
balaun (choke) I wouldn't know. Hopefully someone will say that they have
tried it, and let you know the results favorable or unfavorable.
