[Antennas] Vertical question re current balun

That is a great question.

Here are my thoughts.  First, if one is not used, I fear that there would be radiation in the feed line.  If this is true, and since my feed line runs on the ground, I assume that power would be lost into the ground.

Secondly, since I want to keep as much power in the antenna as possible, and we know that is the case, then I cannot see where there is a detriment to having a balun on a 1/4 wave vertical.
