Do doubt equal length coax picks up less noise, and it doesn't
need to be physically parallel. The old telephone companies
and railroads called it "balance", (to ground), that they wanted
on their open wire lines. There was a formal scheme for the
swapping of the wires, left with right, and called "transpositioning".
I'm sure many of you have seen "transpositioning blocks" on
telephone pole cross-arms where the position of the wires
were switched. The idea was to minimize cross talk. If you use
two coax cables, and are a perfectionist, you'll want to snip the
length of the electrically longest cable for balance. That is a
whole new subject. Rule: If the average ham doesn't usually
notice an anomaly, then it doesn't matter.
