I need some help with a general, overall question for the list. How do I
formulate a specific question to the list, in a way that I can receive, specific
answers to the question I need answered?
I have ask a number of questions (7-10) to the list in the past 6 months I have
been subscribed. It seems I never manage to express the question in a way, so
that I can receive answers that I can actually apply.
I have tried just throwing out a question. I have gone into (seemingly overdone
detail), done the write it, sleep on it, recheck it, reword it, and then sleep
on it again. Before sending it out. Doesn't seem to matter. I don't get usable
answers to my questions.
I have tried to set the limitation of the situation, so as to narrow down the
focus, but the replies I receive have been mostly useless. Great answers, but
not ones that apply to my SPECIFIC situation/question.
I'm not saying they are not excellent answers for some situations. Nor am I
saying the folks that do the replies are ignorant, or unable to read the
question correctly, none of that stuff that will instigate a flame fest! I feel
I must be unable to formulate the questions so that I will get a usable answer
for the specific question I am trying to ask help for.
As an aside here, I have spoken with a number of others (4-5 folks) that have
related to me their same frustrations on this list. Even to the point that most
of them are no longer subscribers. They tell me to just get over it, that's the
way things are, don't expect to get an answer, I'm wasting my time.
Also, this is not to say I don't appreciate the varied input. That's great
stuff, I love the multitude of ways to attack a problem. This is how we get a
chance to think out of the box. Maybe look at a problem in a way we hadn't
considered. That's all well and good.
BUT..........
I need to know how to formulate a specific question to the list, so as to get
answers, framed within the parameters I am forced to work within, and get some
answer I can actually use! All suggestions gratefully appreciated.
TIA
