There would be no noticeable difference in signal improvements, but heaver 
wire will be physically stronger and will last longer.

Modeling using NEC4 shows that any difference to be a very small fraction 
which would never be noticed in antenna operation.

In the past I have used a gasoline powered lawn edger. However, I installed 
two blades (doubling the width of the cut) for cutting trough grass and 
rather hard soils. It works well, but a bit dirty - be sure to wear eye 
protection and be ready to take a shower when you're done. <G>
