[Antennas] In L lengths, again

I understand from previous posts, that in building an  inverted L, one "ideal 
length" would be something like   (In my case,  going up 55 feet) then about 
85 feet horizontal.  Quarter wave, got it. 
I CAN go much longer on the horizontal, up to couple hundred  feet, maybe 
more.  Seems like the more wire the better??? If I extended the  horizontal 
section,  how much should I exend it. Gonna feed it with coax  and run through a 
tuner  the shack.  Should I extend it 130 feet MORE  than the  85 feet already 
up there, to make it a full 1/2 w long?   And, if I cant quite get that... 
should I stick with the 85 feet, or just put up  as much as I can?
