[Antennas] Roosting birds

Another idea for your fruit trees...may work on an antenna but generate complaints
from your neighbors....

Hang those wonderful AOL CDs that you get in the mail or CDs that did not burn
correctly. Must be done right after the tree stops flowering and be done so they
move freely. Over time, the coating will fall off, so they should be replaced each
year to work at peak efficiency. Should be placed as high in the tree as you can get
it.

They work by creating a 'flash' of reflected light as they move in the breeze or as
the supporting limb moves when a bird lands on it.

Only really good way I have found to keep crows out of the cherry trees I have now
and the pear and apple trees I used to have ('dwarf' pear that grew too tall and was
in the way of my beam.....'dwarf' trees only stay 'dwarf' if they are pruned each
year).

Having found that painting your antennas black makes them harder to see and cuts
down on the complaints from neighbors, the 'split loom' options sounds like
something I may try next year.....cut the visibility and keep birds off at the same
time....kill 2 birds with 1 stone, hi hi.
