My favorite antenna is a horizontal wire about 140
feet long about 18 feet off the ground.  Fed with
a vertical wire at the end.  No radials, ground is
my well pipe that goes 66 feet down into ground.
Works all amateur and MARS frequencies with an
ICOM AH-4 tuner.  It's not very good above 15 mtrs,
but 160 appears to be just fine.  Also very good
for middle wave AM broadcast listening.
