[Antennas] 160 meter inverted L

There has been recent discussion on wire antennas for 160 meters. 
Crossed dipoles at low height and horizontal loop.

I am surprized that the inverted-L has not been mentioned.  I have never
tried an inverted-L for any band but articles describing its
construction always praise its performance.

I would like to hear from anyone who has actually used an inverted-L. 
Is it as good as claimed?  What was it compared to?
