[Antennas] Ray-D-8 antenna

Hello antennas,
it's been a while since I asked (and I got no responses before), so...

Does anyone know anything about Ray-D-8 antennas? I have one which I
suspect is incomplete.
The Antenna I have has a sticker on the coil labelled TROJAN 2300, and
the metal base of the coil is marked (in the casting) "TROJAN 22" and
"coil number 82-025". The fiberglass whip is over 8' long.
I was originally planning to mount the coil to a fiberglass plate or
some other insulator and feed with a wire, but one Ray-D-8 antenna I
found in a search seemed to be transformer-coupled inside the
(different model) coil.
