[Antennas] Anemometers and Weather Stations

My Oregon Scientific station records daily and all time high wind speeds, 
plus the usual weather stuff...temp, dew point, rainfall, barometric pressure, 
wind chill,  humidity.  You can set an alarm to beep above a certain mph.   

Main thing about  the anemometer site is this:   while its tempting to put it 
say  half way up the tower, beware of falling ice.    

The weather bureau  records its winds at 30 ft above ground level so thats 
the official height to aim for.  But  make sure the anemometer is away  from, or 
above,  the house and any  trees.  You want it in the open where nothing 
above it  can fall on it or drop ice on it.
