Feeding almost ANY antenna with an open wire balanced line almost guarantees
the ability to obtain a match. Of course, there will be frequencies at
which it is more difficult than others to get a match, but the very nature
of an open wire, balanced line is such that you CAN get a match. The tuner
need not be at the feed point - that usually requires some sort of remote
control over the tuner and a little enclosure to weather-proof it. The usual
solution is to provide a good balanced tuner, and bring the balanced line
right into the shack. At any frequency where you have difficulty getting a
match you can always insert a lumped element or pair of lumped elements
between the tuner and the line for a gross correction.

If you want to use a short pair of coax sections for the short run from
outside the shack, through the wall to the tuner, that's a viable option.

I have used all of those combinations successfully.
