Hi Jim,=0D

If your planning on using that much power do not skimp on the Coax. 58 m=
ay
handle the 1 kw at perfect match but will not with much of a mismatch. a=
nd
it is not worth the effort to build the amp if your going to us 58 .=0D

I am planning a linear capable of 2.5KW PEP on SSB up to 30 MC.=0D
(4-1000A at 4500-6000 volts plate)=0D
=0D
I want to make sure my antenna cable can handle it.=0D
=0D
In looking at cables I find that LMR-200 (Hi Performance RG-58) is=0D
capable of 1050 watts at 30 Mhz. Just how much does that translate to=0D
in power level SSB PEP? Is there a rule of thumb for compairing cable=0D
power capability when I assume that the number usualy qouted is for CW=0D
power capability?=0D
=0D
RG213 and LMR-400 look like they could easily handle my power output but=0D
are a bunch more dollars.=0D
