[Antennas] vertical noise

I had heard that too, and may be true if you are well away from the power 
lines.  I have experienced just the opposite, but the transmission lines go 
adjacent to the rear of my lot and they are parallel to my G5RV, and about 
50' away.  So, it depends on your situation.
