Well the results are in and everyone says the trap died first then the
SWR went sky high. and the poor swr/power meter just cooked.

I looked at the Yaesu web site and see they charge $70.00 an hour plus
parts. .... hmmmm not too bad for a $2000.00 radio but I think I will
have to scrap the meter. as it only cost $130.00

Now I need a new multi-band vertical also, I have been thinking about
a Butternut, but several of my friends think the GAP is a better
choice.  I have a TA-33 for 10-15-20 so maybe just a low band vertical
will do

I plan to mount it on the edge of the roof, so I can't really lay out
ground wires.

Well,  please offer comments and sugestions. and I will report back.
