It sounds like you have enough perimeter to put up a 1/2 wave dipole on
40, if you put it up in a U configuration.  If you want only 40 meter
operation, you can feed it in the center with coax.  If you want
multiband operation, feed it in the center with ladder line and use a
good tuner that will provide balanced line output.  In any case, the
higher up (at least the center) the better.
