Insulated verses Non insulated will not make any difference in the worki=
ng
of the antenna. only in how long the raidials will last in the ground . a=
nd
there is no need to cut them exactly to frequency when place on on in the
ground. the more the better from an antenna efficiency point of view. I
Used a 4 BTV with 120 buried radial for years and it worked great. all
radial were cut to 35 ft. Had to retune a bit.=0D

A god source of information on radial systems and myth about them can be
found on the Bencher web sight at :http://www.bencher.com/pdfs/00803ZZV.p=

Hope this is of some help,=0D

I agree with your comments regarding the elevated radials... However,=0D
Hustler's instructions specify insulated buried radials. With the heavy=0D
clay soils here, I really didn't want to do all of the work involved in=0D
laying the radials more than ONCE...<grin>. The final result, using fully=
=0D
insulated radials, and cut to the lengths listed in the instruction sheet=
s,=0D
is that the 6-BTV meets or exceeds Hustler's specifications. Ya jest=0D
cain't ask fer moah, now kin ya...? A'yuh...!=0D
