Dow Corning DC-4 compound.

Excellent moisture barrier. Rated for -70 deg. F to +400 deg. F.  Used
extensively in avionics and other aircraft electrical applications.  Is also
great to protect O-rings, gaskets and other rubber and vinyl products from
oxidation and hardening.  I get it from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty.  I
think it's about $12-$15/large tube - maybe a little less.  A tube will last
a lifetime in incidental use.
