A real ham passes a test and knows how to operate the radio...
and that is IT....they dont need to make their own antenna...
are you saying that a new novice at age 13 who just passed their
license but doesnt build his own dipoles is not a ham?? What about
the disabled amateur who cannot??? YOUR comment below needs rethinking
because of that Chuck...sorry if your definition of being a ham REQUIRES
them to build dipoles.......You are very narrow minded in that regard...
especially if you make such general broad statements and expect
any ham to know it all and do it all....those who disabled in ANY way
and yet STILL pass the test and operate any mode THEY wish
is a ham in my book...pity they arent in yours..

K1MAN?? I ignore that idiot...how he is still licensed, I dont
understand...

As for the broadcast world, good!! At least I know who to come
complain to when I am working on a Harris xmtr! :) (Actually I work
on Continentals and Harris xmtrs! I DO like the HT35 though too much
CPU stuff in it for my liking...The CEC's are built like a battleship
and can probably survive a lightning strike better...my Harris AM
xmtrs are nice as well...but then Im sure you arent the ONLY one
who worked on them....so dont give yourself a strain trying to pat
yourself on the back as well.....EVERYONE has a talent...in one form
or another....)

I dont mind eating crow...but then I dont go around making critical
remarks of those who DONT know everything....offering advice? yes..
making them seem lower than ME?? heck no!!! THAT IS NOT in the
Amateur Code of Ethics...which I think a lot of hams (here and else-
where) need to reread....
