I expect that you mean SO-239 connectors.

They probably were stripped because the former owner used PL-259
connectors either with metric threads, which *can* be forced onto the
conventional SO-239 but with thread damage, or used the cheaper
connectors which have poor thread construction and can cause similar
damage.

I would  replace each chassis connector with a new one, preferably not
one obtained from Radio Shack. The "real stuff" from Amphenol and
others costs more but is much better. Replacements can be obtained
either as the 4-screw flange variety or with a single large nut like a
BNC chassis unit.

Might be a good idea to inspect your own PL-259 connectors to make
sure that they screw onto the new chassis connectors smoothly without
binding. I have gotten PL-259s from RS that would fit but required
considerable force to tighten fully due to poor threading.
