Hi All,
1) I just installed my homebrew 20m vertical loop, I'm now feeding it
directly from my Icom AH-4. The antenna tunes with the AH-4 on all 80-
10 meters, and refuses to tune on 6 (nothing to cry about), the first
couple of PSK DX contacts worked out well, my signal was well above
the received signal (same rx signal strength on two different
receivers and antennas).
The antenna is mounted on the roof of my house and the tuner is
mounted on the foot of the antenna pole.
Question: If I was to mount the tuner lower near the basement (shack
is partially underground) and was too feed the loop to the tuner with
ladder line, would this increase or decrease performance of antenna ?
2) The loop replaced a homebrewed 10m vertical element, this I'd like
to mount ground level and turn to a Marconi type vertical for 160m.
Question: Bottom loading will be required, what is the formula for
this ?
Question 2: What kind of feedline should be used ? Openline ? Coax ?
A direct reply to [email protected] as well as the reflector will
be greatly appreciated.
