[Antennas] dual band base

Paul,
I put up two Cushcraft ARX-270N antennas over two years ago, at two
different stations, and both are performing very well. To avoid any
problems with the element couplings, I used a copper-based contact
enhancer (Penetrox-E) on each joint and made them very tight. If I was
going to put one of these antennas on a mountain top (why would I ever
do that?), I would solder every joint.
Like most dual-band antennas, this model has many peaks and valleys in
its response. However, it has a very low SWR in the 462-467 MHz GMRS
band, so it can perform outside of the ham bands- even on some
commercial bands.
