Silver Solder comes in different grades and temperatures. The type I use is
designed to work with propane, melts around 500, maybe 600 degrees and has a
somewhat high PSI rate, around 800 - 900. I am also familiar with the
higher temperature solder you mention, I used quite often in my pipefitting
days. There is no particular reason I use the low temp "solder" mentioned
above, it is just what is commonly available at a very inexpensive price.
Check the antenna archives, a few months ago I posted all specifications and
a couple online sources for the stuff. I pick it up at the local welding
shop, it comes in a kit in a clear large medicine bottle.
