Due to the problems Jim has suffered, I no longer cap the ends of my
booms or elements (on h/b yagis). To stop the wind whistling through the
tubing I cut a few cm of rope and push it into the elements to act as a
damper. This seems to work very nicely and enables me to sleep better
during windy weather.

PS I dont mind spiders, so the bug issue isn't an issue. SB
