I wonder if anyone would have any info on the MA5B matching box MN5B. Is
this a transformer/balun type of device?
The reason I'm asking is the received signals on my MA5B are very weak,
much weaker than what I hear on my R-7000 when I switch between antennas.
Also, the SWR is high. I first suspected my coax, but a second, new run of
coax shows the same results. In checking the MN5B matching box I show an
open between the center conductor and outer conductor of the coax connector
on the MN5B. If there is a transformer or balun involved, such as in the
R-7000 matching unit, then I should have continuity, as I show in the
R-7000 box.
I wonder if anyone has knowledge or experience of what is inside the MA5B
MN5B matching network black box.
