OK

Yes `Arnie' a EE professor in (Havana) Cuba had the plans (2 pages
as I recall) in CQ magazine last year.
It need be no more than a 40 meter dipole (I think 1/4 wl high) over
the ground, with a slightly longer wire between two stakes 6 inches or
a foot above the surface of the ground, with a way to detune it to talk
normally. (farther)
This kind of antenna gives a gud signal to your county and several around
with an omni directional pattern, increasing the gain will make the area
covered smaller, with more signal strength, neither of these do you need.
Look up CC2CO 's article, I sure want to try this ASAP, but my plate is
very full. I remember it well and I will get to it if I live long enough.
