I have the same problem and very much intersted for a solution.
Using the programs AO en NW very often since about 10 years now.
In 1991 I started with MNC, presently using AO 6.5 and NW 2.0 (1997),
so there is a newer version then you have Steven.
In his latest software he skipped the copy protection and the price went down.

Using windows ME is the last possibility on windows to run this programs.
On newer windows versions dos programs are not supported anymore.
The number of wires in AO is low (depends on memory set-up) but with NW it is 1000.
So, mostly I use AO to model and then to calculating with NW
In the mean time I bought eznec 3.0, an excellent program with a nice user interface but my problem is that I am working much faster with AO than with Eznec and therefore still prefer Brians AO/NW/TA/&YO.
(and I have a large library of models made during the past 10 years)
