All kidding aside, I have a 18 inch long piece of 2 & 1/2 inch diameter
pipe with a cap on one end. I put the pipe over the rod and use my weight
to drive it in as far as I can then I use the pipe as a drop hammer on the
rod until the pipe hits the ground. I use a sledgehammer to finish it the
last foot. It's similar in design to using a manual fence post setting
tool. (Which also works really well if you can find/afford one.)
