I have been following this also and that is the main reason I bought the
Hygain AV620 about 1 1/2 years ago.
I checked the site with the diagram of the black box and it is
strikingly similar to the box on the Hygain.
I think I will take it down and take a few pics to compare.
I wonder if they would be close enough to use on the Cushcraft?
I have had very satisfactory dealings with the guys at Hygain.
About 3 months after I put it up I burned up the decoupling balun
(actually my fault I guess for running 1kw on a portion of 10meters with
high SWR.) One of the toroids fractured. One call did it. They did not
have the whole black box available at that moment to send me but offered
to send me the balun to replace myself and I did.
I was back on the air in less than a week.

Read with interest the post today about Cushcraft being unwilling to
sell
components for the antennas.
Personally, I would think that is a not so subtle message about what
kind
of company Cushcraft is. Seems like time to deal with someone else.
