That would be an Ortho-Phase Duplex, but I have no idea what that means.
Many Pickett models had holes in the slides at each end but I don't know why.
All of the Pickett metal rules I own have holes in the slides but the
plastic and wood ones don't.

Looks like in the last couple of months Pickett 1000's have been going for
between $5 and $36.
As with anything on Ebay, the price you get depends on the condition of the
rule and how desperate the buyer is to get one.
For what it's worth, I used my Pickett N16 pocket to take my General and
Extra exams. Why? Just so I could say I did. ;-)
