He's not a copyright lawyer.  The only bankable authority on this is a
lawyer who works in the area of copyright.  Anyone else is just
gassing like a jailhouse lawyer.
If you get flack about copyright ask the self appointed adjudicator if
he is a lawyer.  If he says no then tell him to shut up (politely).
