[AMRadio] The good old days of 7160

I miss those Saturday night gatherings of W5MEU, KD6OS when he was on the
west coast, and several others whose calls do not come to mind as I write
this. Back before the local noise floor went up to at least ceiling level,
there were some really good signals down there coming from Viking Rangers,
Viking II's, etc.

 

W5MEU and a station in WI were, I think running BC610 transmitters, and
KD6OS had a Johnson Desk, but there were several lower power stations active
in that group.

 

I would jump in there occasionally with my barefoot rice box.

 

I haven't listened down there on Saturday morning in a while. I will do
that, and see what I can hear.
