[AMRadio] A nasty problem

I have a multi-drawer transmitter from around 1944 to restore, and rodents have been living in the power supply at the bottom.  Thankfully, they didn't eat any insulation, just left their urine behind.  Does anybody have a sure fire method to clean this and stop the chemical reaction that rusts and eats away the metal, even when the critters are long gone?  Thanks.
