I use Stay-Clean. A product we use in the HVAC/R industry to remove 
oxidation before brazing/soldering. Its very strong, so must be careful. 
I'd say it's closer to a mild acidic than the flux we are used to. Just 
neutralize with a damp cloth and you should be good to go. I think it 
has zinc-Chloride in it.
