When it rains it pours department. I have been using Heath 2040 and 2060 tuners for years. Stumbled upon a 275 watt Johnson Matchbox that needed work and got it going and inline instead of the 2040 for 80 and up, but use the 2060 on 160. . I also was given a coverless 1KW Mathcbox, complete and in good shape, just no top cover, thus no metering. Now was just given a Nye Viking MB-V-A, but have read that it is not to good on 160. People say it has 'limitations' on 160 even the Nye manual says that, but does not elaborate. The best I can determine from the comments is that it does not do well with odd wavelength antennas, bedsprings, or 10 meter whips on 160, but those with real ants have no problems with it on 160. I have what would loosely be called a random wire, even though its in the inverted L configuration of about 300 feet from the back of the 2060 tuner, 45 feet up, then 255ft long over sloping ground where it is 75 feet on the other end. Does anybody have experience with the Viking on 160 with long wire non resonant ants? I don't need all these tuners, if anybody is interested in the Nye or fixer upper 1KW matchbox, let me know. Thanks.
