Actually the BBS portion was discontinued when Gary & Brian combined the AM
Classifieds & Brian's AMfone domain into one. Steve saw no point in
continuing yet another site for AMers to post, so he shut it down and
pointed folks to 'fone.

But yes - I recall the nonsense you're referring to Don and no doubt it
made the BBS shutdown a no brainer. The 'prominent' AMer had caused some
other problems there as well, playing games with false posts under other
names etc. There was certain proof of that. The open site wasn't a problem
for the longest time, then the problem children discovered how easy it was
to show their asses and that was that. Steve tightened things up but in the
end decided to focus the posting on one site where folks could swap info.
He did retain the static data though, and still adds to it from time to
time. A lot of AM history still resides there.

Did speak with Steve last night.  Should be back online sometime today.
