Those things aren't found everywhere.  We have very few of them here at 
this location, and then only for a very short time.

We don't get them at all up at Rattlesnake Island, but then again, there 
are virtually no bugs there at all due to the almost-always prevailing 
westerly breeze off the water.  Don't even have a screened in porch up at 
the island - just sit out on a summer's eve and enjoy the sunset.

In Maine and other more northerly locations, I hear the black flies are so 
big they can practically carry you away :-)
