[AMRadio] ART-13 vs. ATC

Bill,
K105 is used to bypass the HF plate circuit if the LF exciter is used; it
also bypasses the 813 plate LF RF choke on HF. Although the provision is
there in the ATC for the LF module, the ATC was issued without it. I have
several ATC's and none has the LF module installed.
For all practical purposes, the original ATC style K105 will do just fine.
You're not going to gain anything by replacing it with the later K105
version.
Have fun!

Subject: [AMRadio] ART-13 vs. ATC
Hi All
I posted last week about a power connector for an ART-13. I got one, so
thanks to the guys who replied. I do have one question about a relay in the
thing. What I actually bought was an ATC the precursor of the ART-13. My
radio is in excellent shape cosmetically and electrically and someone at
SAMMA put the later model of the MCM/CFI module in it on one of its visits
to San Antonio so I guess I really have a hybrid even though they are
basically the same radio less the JAN nomenclature name change and K105 in
the output section which is what I am asking about.
The ATC has a smaller relay designated K105 that mounts vertically on the
wall of the Modulator / PA compartment vs. the -13's K105 which mounts
horizontally on the same wall in essentially the same place but extends
almost to the front panel adjacent to where the LF Oscillator would mount.
Any comments on whether or not on the bigger relay might have some advantage
or whether or not I would be perverting a historically important variation
of a Collins original if I were to replace what I have with one of the later
version relays?.......... ignoring what SAMMA already did with the MCW/CFI
module (which is going to stay since it's more accurate than the original).
I'm going to get this thing on the air one way or the other and maybe pair
it with my HQ-140X until I get the BC-348 a friend gave me over the weekend
cleaned up and working. So any help is appreciated.
Thanks es 73
