[AMRadio] ART-13 vs. ATC

Hi All

I posted last week about a power connector for an ART-13. I got one, so thanks to the guys who replied. I do have one question about a relay in the thing. What I actually bought was an ATC the precursor of the ART-13. My radio is in excellent shape cosmetically and electrically and someone at SAMMA put the later model of the MCM/CFI module in it on one of its visits to San Antonio so I guess I really have a hybrid even though they are basically the same radio less the JAN nomenclature name change and K105 in the output section which is what I am asking about.

The ATC has a smaller relay designated K105 that mounts vertically on the wall of the Modulator / PA compartment vs. the -13's K105 which mounts horizontally on the same wall in essentially the same place but extends almost to the front panel adjacent to where the LF Oscillator would mount.

Any comments on whether or not on the bigger relay might have some advantage or whether or not I would be perverting a historically important variation of a Collins original if I were to replace what I have with one of the later version relays?.......... ignoring what SAMMA already did with the MCW/CFI module (which is going to stay since it's more accurate than the original).

I'm going to get this thing on the air one way or the other and maybe pair it with my HQ-140X until I get the BC-348 a friend gave me over the weekend cleaned up and working. So any help is appreciated.

Thanks es 73
