[AMRadio] AM presentation

I think this is a tractable presentation a long as no one gets
"religious" about it.

Like any other aspect of ham radio, there's a lot of ways to get there
from here. Good, high quality (not the same as high fidelity) AM is a
technical challenge. For some, it only "counts" if it's done with
home-brew hollow state devices and glow FETs or nothing. For others it's
only "real AM" if it's made with refurbished vintage gear, a few want to
restore and use WWII gear (and in the process find out how crummy some
of it really was and how robust and wonderful some of it was), or even
the rare factory-made pre-war gear. For yet others it's the challenge of
Class E transmitters. The list is a delightfully long one.

In your presentation, I suggest the bottom line to be that AM is the
genesis mode for SSB and using AM with both sidebands intact and the
carrier still there is fun! Doing it well enjoys technical challenges
that are different from other analog modes and, to get the most
enjoyment, these challenges need to be understood. Beyond that, whatever
they use to make good AM will be good enough!
